HOW MANY CALL OF DUTY GAMES ARE THERE?

    Call of Duty is one of the world's most played and most sold first-person shooter video games ever since it came out in the year 2003.
 There has also been 18 Call of Duty games released in the main series since 2003 apart from other Call of Duty games e.g Call of Duty Mobile and the other. 

The 18 Call of Duty games are arranged in order of their release dates are; 

1. Call of Duty :

It was released on the 19th of October, 2003. 
It was the first ever Call of Duty game to be made and it sold over 4.4 million copies worldwide. Amazing right?

You could play the game on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Ms Windows and a few others.

2. Call of Duty 2 :

It was released on the 11th of November, 2005, approximately 2 years after the release of the first Call of Duty game. 
 It was developed by Treyarch and could be played on PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360.
  It even had more sales than the first ever Call of Duty game with an amount of over 5.4 million copies worldwide.
  


3. Call of Duty 3 

It was released on the 7th of November, 2006 which is approximately also 2 years after Call of Duty 2. 
 It was developed by a different developer which was Treyarch. 
It also had more sales than the previous game by having over 7 million copies sold worldwide. 

4. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

It was released the year after Call of Duty 3 on the 5th of November, 2007.
The developer was changed back to Infinity Ward. 
It could be played on MS windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
It had over 15 million copies sold all around the the world. 


5. Call of Duty: World At War

It was released on the 11th of November, 2008; a year after Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. 
It was also once again developed by Infinity Ward. It could be played on MS windows, Xbox one, Xbox 360 and PlayStation3. 
It also had over 15 million copies sold worldwide. 

6. Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2

 

This was the second Modern Warfare ever released and it was released on the 10th of November, 2009- also approximately a year after the previous Call of Duty game. 


    It was developed by Infinity Ward and could be played on the same devices just as the previous game.
It had over 20 million copies sold worldwide. 


7. Call of Duty: Black Ops

   It was released on the 9th of November, 2010; approximately a year after Modern Warfare 2. 
It was the 3rd Call of Duty game developed by Treyarch and could be played on Xbox One, PlayStation3, Wii and a few more. 
It recorded the sales of over 30 million copies. 


8. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3


This is the 3rd Modern Warfare game and it was released on the 8th of November, 2011. 
It could played on Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and OS x. 
It was developed by a completely different developer which was Sledgehammer games and had over 30 million copies sold worldwide. 

9. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2

This was the second black Ops game and was released on the 13th of November, 2012. 
It could be played on the same devices just as Modern Warfare 3.
It was developed by Treyarch and a little lower than Modern Warfare 3 - over 29 million copies worldwide. 

10. Call of Duty: Ghosts

It was the first Ghosts to be released and was released on the 5th of November, 2013.
It was developed by Infinity Ward and could be played on PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Ms windows and Wii U. 
It sold over 28 million copies also a little lower than the previous game. 


11. Call of Duty : Advanced Warfare

It was released on the 4th of November, 2014.
It be played on the same devices as Call of Duty: Ghosts apart from Wii U. 
It was developed by Sledgehammer Games and sold over 21 million copies. 


12. Call of Duty : Black Ops 3

It was the 3rd Black Ops edition and was released on the 6th of November, 2015.
It could be played on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox one and Xbox 360.
It was developed by Treyarch and it sold over 26 million copies worldwide. 

13. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

It was released on the 4th of November, 2016. 
It was developed by Infinity Ward and could be played on MS windows, Xbox one and PlayStation 4.
It sold over 13 million copies worldwide. 


14. Call of Duty: WWII

Call of Duty World War 2 was released on the 3rd of November, 2017.
It was developed by Sledgehammer Games and could be played on the same devices just as Infinite Warfare. 
It had over 19 million copies. 


15. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

It was the 4th Black Ops edition and was released on the 12th of November, 2018.
It was developed by Treyarch and could be played on the same devices just as the previous game released. 
It sold over 14 million copies worldwide. 

16. Call of Duty : Modern Warfare(2019)

It was released on the 12th of November, 2018. 
It could be played on the same devices just as Black Ops 4.
It was developed by Infinity Ward and had millions of copies sold worldwide (no specific number of copies sold)

It was released in the fall of 2020. 
It was developed by 3 developers - Treyarch, Raven Software and Sledgehammer Games. 
It sold millions of copies worldwide.

It was released on the 5th of November, 2021 by Sledgehammer games. 
It could be played on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Ms Windows, Xbox One.

It was released on the 10th of March, 2020. 
It was developed by 3 good developers which are Sledgehammer Games, Raven Software and Treyarch. 
It features only the Battle Royale Gameplay mode. 


Interesting Fact: more than 70 percent of the Call of Duty games was released on November and developed by Infinity Ward.
